- All non-emergency medical transportation requires prior authorization. Please be advised that although Rick’s Auto Medical Transportation transports medical passengers, we do not presently have wheelchair lifts in our vehicles. All passengers must be able to access our vehicles with minimal assistance from our drivers.
- Patients or service providers must contact the individual Health Plan Provider of the Member to request transportation assistance. Rick’s Auto Medical Transportation cannot accept direct requests from patients to provide service without this prior authorization.
- Our knowledgeable dispatch staff utilizes computerized patient/driver scheduling software upon notification from the Health Plan Provider of a pre-approved service. Health Plan Providers are quickly notified of travel quotes and availability when requests are made. Every effort is made to immediately address their request. We promptly schedule drivers and confirm these pre-approved appointments directly with the patient.
